Catherine joined Chambers in 2004 and was pupil to Shaun Smith. She both prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court and specialises in the following areas of criminal law:
• Serious violent offences
• Sexual offences
• Robbery
• Fraud
• Any offences representing young or vulnerable clients, or those unfamiliar with the Criminal Justice System
Catherine has appeared in the following reported cases:
• R v Tattersall [2008] EWCA Crim 2567 – Sentencing for fraud and burglary
• R v Harris [2008] EWCA Crim 856 – Disparity of sentence between co-defendants
• R v C [2007] EWCA Crim 1358 – Dangerousness and young offenders
Catherine appears regularly in Crown Courts throughout the East Midlands.
