Chris joined Chambers in 2010 following his pupillage with Steven Coupland.

He is looking to expand his practice in all areas of criminal law and has a particular interest in social security fraud, offences of violence and licensing cases having been instructed by a local authority on a number of private hire vehicle cases.

Chris has trial experience in the magistrate’s court having dealt with a wide range of matters including violence, sexual offences, road traffic, drug and theft matters, for both the prosecution and defence. He has also prosecuted a number of physical assaults on young children requiring him to deal with vulnerable child witnesses as young as four years old.

He also has trial experience in the Crown Court having been instructed in cases involving serious acts of violence, possession with intent to supply class A drugs as well as dishonesty matters. Chris has experience of dealing with a wide range of sentencing matters as well as matters under the proceeds of crime act.

He has undertaken various work for local authorities, government departments as well as individual firms. He is a Level two prosecutor and also undertakes regular defence work.

Outside of court, Chris is a keen sports fan and follows his beloved West Ham as well as London Irish.

He is a member of the Midland Circuit, Criminal Bar Association and the Nottingham Bar Mess committee.
