Clive started his practice as a criminal barrister in London before moving to Nottingham in 1990.
Over the last three decades he has been instructed to both prosecute and defend in cases alleging Murder, Manslaughter, Death by Dangerous Driving, Serious Sexual Offending, Violence and Fraud.
Over the years Clive has gained a reputation for conducting cases where serious sexual offending has been alleged but his practice extends to all manner of cases.
He is regarded as approachable, calm and persuasive. He is recognised as having a reassuring manner and is often favoured in cases where vulnerable Defendants or witnesses are involved.
In recent years he has been engaged in the following types of case: Gang related murder; manslaughter by fire setting; organised sexual exploitation; historic sexual offending and drug conspiracies.
