Laura undertook the Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School and in 2001 she joined Number 1 High Pavement Chambers.
Laura is an experienced trial advocate who regularly defends and prosecutes cases where the following allegations are made:
• Rape and sexual assault
• Serious violence
• Possession of drugs with intent to supply and supply of drugs
• Fraud and money laundering
Laura also has a wealth of experience in dealing with cases involving child witnesses and also vulnerable witnesses.
Laura has recently appeared in the following cases:
R-v-Lasas and others: the prosecution of 4 Eastern European migrant workers for the killing of a work colleague.
R-v-Pemberton-Smith: the prosecution of a man for serious physical and sexual offending against his wife.
R-v-R: the prosecution of a man for sexual offending against his young step-daughter
R-v-Crowder: the defence of a man accused of serious sexual offending against a child.
R-v-Braddock: the defence of a man accused of glassing another man in a public house.
