As summer turns to autumn, No.1 High Pavement Chambers have had the joy of all getting together for the first time since Covid struck.

We celebrated - well over a year late - the 30th anniversary of our formation which took place in January 1990. Some of us had not seen each other in the flesh in nearly two years.

Together with our families - all of us - the barristers, clerks and pupils had a great day out in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside- picnicking, playing rounders, badminton, volleyball, and football whilst enjoying one another’s company - just having fun. What a happy group of 70 plus people we were coming blinking out into the light after the darkness of Covid to share a glass or two and to enjoy each other’s company.

We continue to go from strength to strength. We have all managed to adapt our ways of working and grow in confidence about the future with every day that passes. Also we have succeeded in recruiting several very able practitioners who have all added to the breadth of experience and talent we offer.

So, whilst summer may finally be drawing to a close, we face autumn and the future bright eyed, confident and determined to make the most of our newfound freedom.
